A special scholars' Q&A session was held in Nottingham with His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. The gathering was hosted by Pir Syed Lakhte Hassanain, Founder and Chairman of Muslim Hands International, with introductory remarks delivered by Dr Musharraf Hussain, CEO of the Karimia Institute.
Scholars from across the UK were present, alongside senior representatives of MQI UK, Muslim Hands, and the Karimia Institute. The session opened space for detailed questions on contemporary challenges: religious literacy in a British context, the training of the next generation of imams and scholars, the relationship between traditional scholarship and public engagement, and the state of interfaith and civic partnerships.
Shaykh-ul-Islam engaged directly and generously with every question, drawing on his half-century of scholarship and public leadership. He emphasised that scholars in Britain today are called to hold two disciplines together: a deep grounding in the classical tradition, and a genuine literacy in the language, institutions, and concerns of British public life.
The Nottingham session was widely welcomed as a model of collaboration across scholarly and welfare organisations, and marked another chapter in the strengthening ties between MQI UK, Muslim Hands, and Karimia.
