His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam Prof. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered an intimate and highly beneficial session of nasiha for the scholars of Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK and a small number of invited guests in Scotland. His Eminence was accompanied by Prof. Dr Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of MQI, and Shaykh Ahmed Mustafa al-Arabi al-Qadri.
The session focused on the practical craft of scholarly service in Britain today: how to teach, how to counsel, how to hold public conversations with clarity and mercy, and how to remain grounded in the classical tradition while speaking to the concerns of modern audiences.
His Eminence spoke about the interior life of the scholar. Without the discipline of prayer, silence, and self-accounting, he said, external work loses its light. The scholar's public voice is only as strong as the inner practice that sustains it.
The session closed with prayers and specific commitments from the participating scholars on writing, teaching, and mentoring commitments for the year ahead. The Scotland session marked one of the more personal moments of the UK tour, and one that many present said they would carry with them for a long time.
